OGC WFS accepted as ISO Standard

The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) announced that the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) has approved the OGC Web Feature Service (WFS) Interface standard as an International Standard.

Other main ISO standards approved for GeoSpatial applications\services\data are:
  • ISO19125-1:2004 (Geographic information - Simple Feature Access - Part 1: Common Architecture);
  • ISO 19125-2:2004 (Geographic information - Simple feature access - Part 2: SQL Option);
  • ISO 19128 Web Map Service (WMS);
  • ISO 19136 (Geographic information - Geography Markup Language (GML).

new license for Mapfish framework

The new version 2.1 of Mapfish framework*, also used in SpagoBIGeoReportEngine, has been released. The re-licensing from GPL to BSD is an important feature in order to include the library in a lot of both commercial and open source applications!
